An exciting wintertime attraction is happening in Downtown Hendersonville this holiday season. Lace up your skates and take to the iceless skating rink located at the Visitor Center at 201 South Main Street. The rink opens Tuesday, December 18 and runs through Tuesday, January 1.
The Iceless Skating Rink offers optimal glide with the least amount of surface friction. The synthetic ice-skating rink is made from special polymers that does not require liquid and features two curling lanes. Beginners can learn to skate easily on the synthetic surface with more control than on refrigerated ice. Enjoy roasting marshmallows for a tasty s’more, or playing a game of corn hole, checkers, or Jenga with your family and friends.
Price of admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 & under, payment is by cash or check, which includes the skate rental. Group rates for 10 or more are available, by reservation. The hours of the rink are 11am-6pm, Christmas Eve 11am-3pm, Christmas Day-Closed, New Year’s Eve 11am-3pm, and New Year’s Day from 1pm-6pm. Weather permitting.
The skating rink is a fundraiser for the Henderson County America in Bloom Committee. America in Bloom is a mentoring program that helps towns enhance environmental awareness, promote economic development, and improve quality of life.
